When Sweeda asked if I wanted to go to Sketch for Afternoon Tea, I couldn’t say no. I was excited and couldn’t wait to see the famous pink room.
From the outside of the building you wouldn’t think it was anything special but as soon as we stepped in the atmosphere was buzzing. We were directed down to the Reception Desk to confirm our booking. Right by the Afternoon Tea Room, there is a bar which had an enchanted forest theme with green wallpaper and unusual carpet. We visited the Bar previously.
We were taken to our seats by our Tea Concierge.
The Decor was breathtaking. Quirky artwork covered the walls, the chairs were like pillows and the toilets were pods shaped like an egg. We were greeted by the Cavier man who explained the menu.
We opted for the Sketch Classic Afternoon Tea which worked out at £58 each. To start we selected the tea of our choice from the variety of options. The first course was caviar and quail egg.
To follow was a variety of sandwiches that ranged from Salmon and Cream Cheese to Egg Truffle, a choice of scones; plain or sultana and a selection of sweet bites which included a marshmallow, a Battenburg and pastries.
To end we were served victoria sponge and fruit cake.
It’s Pink, pink and more pink.
Sketch is a popular venue. It has a lovely atmosphere and it’s a place you have to visit whenever you’re in London.
Overall, the afternoon tea was delicious, there was an enjoyable atmosphere and the decor was tasteful. I’m happy I had the chance to visit and I will definitely go back.
