One of my goals this year is to lose weight and get fit. Sweeda and I were meeting so I wanted to find a healthy place to eat in London. I googled healthy restaurants in London and came across Quandoo an online restaurant reservation service. Like Bookatable they have a variety of restaurants to choose from.
Ev is a Turkish Restaurant based in Southbank. I booked a table for 5 as we were meeting straight after work. The restaurant is a short walk from Southwark tube station. When we arrived, the restaurant was quiet with a few tables filled. The venue was spacious with a view of the kitchen. We were seated and given bread while we decided what to order.
I chose the Mixed grill which included, Lamb kofte, Chicken kofte, Chicken breast, Lamb fillet, Bulgur wheat and Salad. Sweeda went for a selection of starters; Hummus, Stuffed vine leaves and Turkish sausage. I tried a bit of the Turkish sausage and it was delicious, it took me back to the time I first visited Turkey. I stayed in a small family run Hotel which was lovely and I ordered Turkish sausage most mornings. Both of the kofte kebabs were succulent, the chicken breast was lovely and moist with a charred flavour. The lamb fillet was fatty so I didn’t finish it and the bulgur wheat was just the right amount.
Overall, the food was good. I’ve been to better restaurants but it’s great to try new places. Some of the waiters were not the happiest but overall the staff were approachable.
