I booked my monthly catch up with Michelle at Brasserie Blanc. Bookatable had a deal £25 for a three-course meal and a cocktail. The restaurant was easy to get to; only a short walk from Waterloo Station and opposite the Royal Festival Hall.
We were greeted at the reception and escorted to our table. A few tables were occupied but it was mainly quiet for a Saturday. We were given a menu and there was so much to choose from.
I opted for a Spiced and Stormy Cocktail, Cheese Soufflé for starter, Salmon and Haddock Fishcake for main and Chocolate Feuillantine for dessert.
Michelle chose the Espresso Martini, Cheese Soufflé for starter, Salmon and Haddock Fishcake for main and the Pistachio Soufflé for dessert.
The Cheese Soufflé was amazing; cheesy with a crispy shell and moist centre. To follow, was the delicious salmon fishcakes which were cooked perfectly. The subtle flavours of the poached egg and spinach paired well with the delicate salmon taste. My cocktail was very refreshing and it was gone in less than 10 minutes. Now to my favourite course, dessert. I opted for the Chocolate Feuillantine but I wasn’t a fan as it was dark chocolate so Michelle and I swapped desserts. The Pistachio Soufflé melted in my mouth. I couldn’t finish it because it was sweet but I definitely enjoyed. The bill came up to £58 as I ordered sparkling water and this also included gratuity.
Overall, the food was delicious, we received quick service and the atmosphere was peaceful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re ever in the area and want a quick bite to eat.
