Boden the British clothes retailer, was looking for NHS Staff to take part in their Christmas Campaign and I jumped at the chance. The campaign was Boden’s way of showing their appreciation for all the hard work the doctors, nurses and NHS staff provide.
The photoshoot took place in a stylish pub in Islington. From the moment I arrived the production team were friendly and welcoming. Lighting was being set up and clothes rails with a variety of sparkly outfits were on show. I was escorted to another section of the pub where the other NHS staff members were seated. There was a total of 10 NHS staff members from A&E Nurses to a Consultant Surgeon. Luckily enough I knew 3 of them as they were part of the choir so it made the experience more enjoyable and allowed me to feel more comfortable as I saw some familiar faces. I’m a shy person but when I’m around a new group of people I try to start a conversation but I’m not the life of the party.
There was a table full of treats and drinks from quality streets to healthy fruit. I was given a choice of 2 outfits to try on and opted for the sequin option. Throughout the day we took a variety of individual and group shots. The main group shoot/video took place in the afternoon and prosecco/elderflower beverage was available to loosen us up in front of the camera. It was a bit cringe and I won’t be giving up my day job but the experience was great and I’m grateful for the opportunity. We all got to keep our outfits as a thank you present from Boden for taking part.
