Hazel and I chose to do something different for the monthly catch up by going to a museum.
First stop was the Museum of Brands on Lancaster Road just off Ladbroke Grove in Notting Hill. The museum is open every day from 10am to 6pm (11am-5pm on Sunday). It costs £9 for adults and £5 for children. They also offer a family or concession rate. The museum showcased how brands have evolved over the years. It bought back so many memories looking at the different food brands, games and magazines. From McVities to the Spice Girls to Sooty. It took us about 45 minutes to walk around.
Overall, it was a quaint little museum which made me reminisce and smile at how things have changed. Check it out if you’re in the area and you want to go back to childhood.

Next stop was Hakkasan Hanway Place a Michelin starred Chinese restaurant. I booked a table via you guessed it, Bookatable. The Feast on London offer consisted of a 3-course Taste of Hakkasan menu & a cocktail for £38 per person.
The restaurant was a short walk from Tottenham Court Road Station. The decor was trendy and sophisticated with dim lighting and hints of blue. We were escorted to a lovely booth and comfy chairs.
We started by ordering a cocktail. I chose The Hakka made up of Belvedere vodka, Akashi-Tai sake, lychee, lime, coconut and passion fruit. Hazel selected the Floating Goddess which was Belvedere vodka, pomelo, blueberry, elderflower, pink grapefruit and Burlesque bitters. The cocktails were
The starter was a Dim Sum Selection with Sakura salad. The Dim Sum was filled with chicken and prawns. The dish was very tasty with delicate flavours. For the main, I chose the Stir-fry Black Pepper Rib-eye Beef with Merlot and a side of steamed jasmine rice. I wanted to try something different instead of the usual seafood or chicken which I would normally order. The rib eye beef was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. To end we ordered a modern take of Carrot Cake for dessert. The dessert was presented beautifully and tasted good but I prefer the traditional cake.
Overall, the food was exquisite, the venue was stylish and we received a great service. I will definitely visit again.
