It’s been ages since I’ve seen my friend Reenaa, so when she asked if I was free to meet I said yes. It was lovely to catch up after such a long time; almost 6 months to be exact. We met at work 9 years ago and have been friends ever since. Also, I got the chance to fly to India for her lovely wedding 2 years ago.
Reenaa took me to a small Thai Restaurant called Thai Metro near Goodge Street Tube Station. The Express Lunch Menu was cheap and cheerful:
1 course = £7.65 2 course = £9.65 3 course = £11.65
I was hungry so went for 3 courses and Reenaa opted for 1 course. Reenaa recommend the Drunken Fried Rice with Chicken for the main so that’s what I chose. For Starters I went for the Fish cakes and Dessert was Banana Fritters with Vanilla Ice Cream.
The Main and Starter came out together so Reenaa and I shared the Starter dish. The Fish Cakes were delicious and the sauce had a subtle taste. The Drunken Fried Rice had a nice kick to it; I did have to reach for the water a couple of times. The Banana Fritters were ok but they were a bit oily. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area. It’s cheap and the food is very tasty.
I was stuffed when we left the Restaurant so we decided to walk to Oxford Street and work off the food. We popped into a very busy Primark and I picked up a nice warm hat as it was raining.
To end the night, we decided to go to Starbucks on Princes Street and have a nice Hot Chocolate. On route to Starbucks, we got to see the Christmas Lights on Regent Street which were beautiful. Starbucks was busy but we got a nice table in the corner. We chose the Salted Caramel Brownie Hot Chocolate which was luscious. We had a good old catch up while we enjoyed our Hot Chocolates and then handed home.
I hope you enjoyed. Until next time.
