After performing at some great events at St John’s Church, Unity A.B.E.P were asked to come and host a Christmas Carol Concert. We were so grateful for the opportunity and began planning the set list straight away. We decided to mix up the set list with some well known songs such as Silent Night and Mary Did You Know as well as some Gospel songs such as You Deserve It and Rejoice.
We began weekly rehearsals in October to ensure we would give a strong performance. The time flew by and before you know it the Christmas Concert was here. The members of the St Johns Church are so welcoming and friendly. It’s always a pleasure to perform at the church.
The concert started off with a welcome by Reverend John-Princely Croos and the lighting of the advent candle which symbolised love, joy and peace. The event was filled with songs by Unity A.B.E.P, Christmas Carols sang by the Congregation such as Once in Royal David City and a Message by Guest Speaker Reverend Hugh Dibbens. There was also a great performance of a South American Traditional Christmas Dance by the Spanish Church; New House of Sion. It’s so nice to bring all the churches together and worship. To end the night Reverend Hugh Dibbens gave a Prayer of Blessing.
The congregation enjoyed each song and sang along to the songs they knew. This was the best Unity A.B.E.P performance to date. We’ve developed so much since our Christmas Performance last year. We want to continue to grow and develop in 2019. We will be bringing out some new material and focusing on performing at different events. I’m excited for what’s in store.
I hope you enjoyed. Please follow my blog to keep up to date with my latest posts. Until next time.
